The Cable Car and cultural-entertainment complex ARGO is located in Georgia, specifically in Adjara’s autonomous republic’s city of Batumi. The concept of ARGO is built around the myth of the Argonauts, the cable car, and the complex’s inner and outer spaces, and the whole building’s design and architecture are accordingly closely connected to the ancient Colchis’s "most popular" guests’ journey and adventure.
The main part of the complex is located on Anuria Mountain, 250 meters above sea level. You can reach it by ARGO’s cable cars, the first station of which is in Batumi, on Gogebashvili Street. The length of the cable car is 2,586 meters, and with 20 eight-seat gondolas moving, the one-way trip is around 15 minutes long.
During the summer season, the cultural-entertainment center ARGO offers delightful folklore evenings held under the open sky. These enchanting evenings feature captivating dance performances, soulful songs, and even traditional Georgian dance masterclasses. Additionally, classical music concerts are organized several times a week, providing a rich cultural experience. ARGO also caters to families by frequently hosting entertaining show programs designed for both children and parents to enjoy together.
The ARGO complex features a cafe-restaurant that offers a charming dining experience in both indoor and outdoor spaces, including a delightful deck area. Additionally, there are wine and souvenir shops available, allowing visitors to explore local flavors and find unique mementos. To further enhance the experience, guests can enjoy a photo booth, indulge in delicious treats at an ice cream shop, and take in the breathtaking views from the observation deck. The complex offers a diverse range of amenities and attractions to cater to the preferences of its visitors.
ARGO is one of the Tourinvest Group company’s finished projects, which began in 2008. The construction took around 5 years, and on August 17, 2013, it was officially opened. The cable car was designed and created by Doppelmayr, the world leader in ropeway and cable car engineering. Meanwhile, the cable car stations and the complex architecture were developed by the renown company CallisonRTKL.
